Abstract: 
Yahoo! served an average of 900 million page views a day to more than 180 million unique users during December 2000. These numbers have been growing at an exponential rate for several years and are expected to continue to do so. This talk will highlight some of the non obvious problems that we need to solve to meet this challenge.

Udi Manber is the chief scientist at Yahoo!. Before joining Yahoo! in 1998 he was a professor of Computer Science at the University of Arizona.
