MICO
is a fully compliant implementation of the CORBA 2.3 specification.
It is available on a wide variety of platforms, ranging
from Unix and Windows to PalmOS. The complete source code
of MICO is placed under the GNU General Public License.
As a major milestone, MICO has been branded as CORBA compliant
by The Open Group. MICO is in operation at The Weather Channel
for the nation-wide distribution of weather information.
The presentation will first provide a general
overview of MICO and the features it offers. Next a detailed
description of MICO's internal architecture is given. The
last part of the presentation focuses on the phenomena of
Open Source in general and the experiences made with respect
to MICO.
