Hedgehog Signaling Pathway Website Launched (March 2005)
The Hedgehog Signaling Pathway website(http://hedgehog.sfsu.edu/) is a collaborative project between the Ramirez-Weber lab in the Biology department and Professors Dragutin Petkovic (Chair) and Edward Lank, of the Computer Science Department, at SFSU. The Hh pathway is a fundamental biological pathway required for normal tissue development in organisms. Its clinical relevance is exemplified by the many cancers and genetic disorders that result form its mis-regulation. Our goals for this website are:

  • Develop a comprehensive bioinformatics database for the Hh Pathway as an on-line resource.
  • Provide advanced and innovative database functionality, enabling easy usage community annotations, and asynchronous collaborations between researchers.
