The Android Field Data Collection Tool version 1.0 provides a rich functionality to view dichotomous keys and collect observations on an Android device. However, the observations cannot be stored on the device for later viewing and hence are temporary. The primary goal of this project, the Android Data Collection Management Tool, is to provide extensions to the Android Field Data Collection Tool Version 1.0. These extensions include using Google Maps to provide a navigational component to the application, using SQLite to store the recorded obsevations on the device, provide a download functionality to download observations as well as Dichotomous keys and finally improve on the user experience of the Android Field Data Collection version 1.0. A usability study was conducted for the Android Data Collection Management Tool. The results of the study indicated achievement of the primary goal of this tool. The Android Data Collection Management Tool can be installed on any Android device version 2.2 or later.
