Abstract:

With high quality of the pictures and restricted memory size on the phone, it’s better to have all your pictures saved on the cloud. So, an android application to save or backup pictures on the cloud is a great utility. The user doesn’t have to worry about the limited space or phone impairments restricting them to take pictures or lose them respectively. Unlike most existing apps, this app provides both sync up to cloud and sync down from cloud features that a user may use whenever required. The Snappit Android application allows its users to create albums and take pictures that will be saved on the cloud in addition to being stored in their phone. A user may also delete an existing album or picture. The user can view a particular album to see all the pictures in it. On selecting a particular picture, the application can show the full screen view of the picture. The user can swipe through the full screen image view to see other pictures in the album. The app also allows users to ‘Sync’ the images, i.e. upload or download images to/from the server. When the pictures are saved on the cloud, the user can access it from anywhere using the app and access to Internet connection. All the proposed features were successfully implemented and were tested on multiple Android phones.
