| Abstract: |
The
VoiceView application provides a visual display of the spectrum
of Incoming sound to help singers learn to develop consistent
tone quality. The singer chooses a pitch and sings into the
microphone. Partials are extracted from the full spectrum
of a sample window and displayed in a graph of amplitude vs.
frequency. The partial spectrum can show the singer many details
about the tone quality. The singer can save a snapshot of
the bar graph in order to verify at a later time the ability
to recreate the same spectrum, and hence the same tone quality.
A saved template, when recalled, is displayed with any new
sound coming into the system super-imposed for comparison.
The VoiceView display can also help the singer differentiate
the solo voice from the choral voice or head voice from chest
voice. |
