Abstract:

Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPG) have shown great potential as an effective platform for educational games, or game-based learning. Over the course of more then 2 years, educational MMORP game, "Nursetown", as a new and powerful learning tool for students at School of Nursing has been designed and developed by the team of SFSU.

Contribution of this project to the "Nursetown" Serious Game is achieved by focusing on two equally important tasks. One is to evaluate and improve Serious Game's components, working in collaboration with other contributors on the project. The other task was to manage the "Nursetown" project and its team of developers towards integrating "Nursetown's" components, and in essence completing the game (packaging and delivery) in order to make it be an operational prototype for evaluation testing.
