Undergraduate Program

Our mission of the Computer Science Department is to prepare students for careers as software professionals and for graduate studies in Computer Science.

Pathway imbetween Henseil Hall and the Science Building.

We are committed to providing the opportunity to master the Computer Science discipline to students from all backgrounds. Our program combines strong fundamentals, project- and team- oriented activities, and soft skills, leading to a well-rounded professional education.

Students are encouraged to participate in the Computer Science Cooperative Education Program at SFSU. Under this program, they may obtain industrial employment related to their academic studies. This combination of on-the-job training and academic experience can greatly enhance the value of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science.

An Endowed Scholarship Fund, established in the memory of Jules H. Strauss, offers an annual award to a computer science major who shows scholarly accomplishment and demonstrates financial need.

We are located close to the centers of high-tech R&D in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. We maintain strong connections with our many alumni who remain in the Bay area to pursue professional opportunities.
