Greg Hyman, Industrial Light & Magic

With a series of videos, I hope to illustrate some of the technologies used in creating modern visual effects for movies: for example, motion capture, computer simulation, modeling, lighting and compositing. Questions from the students are welcome and encouraged at any time during the talk.

Greg Hyman graduated with honors from San Francisco State University's film production program in 1994. Since that time, Greg has worked for several film companies. But most of his career has been with George Lucas' Industrial Light and Magic. Greg has been with ILM for seventeen and a half years and is currently a senior visual effects editor. Some of the films he has worked on are Star Wars Episode 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3, and is just finishing up the latest Star Trek film. He has also edited some independent films including Poker, and Coming Home.
