Overview
Abstract
This presentation will begin with a general introduction of the Department of Computer Science at San Francisco State by the department chair, Dr. Arno Puder. It is followed by our graduate advisors, Dr. Timothy Sun and Dr. Qun Wang, who will explain the details of our two masters programs, as well as information on the process for independent research and the culminating experience report or thesis. The presentation is intended for new incoming graduate students who join the department during the academic year 24/25.
Speaker Biography
Dr. Arno Puder is the current chair of the department. Prior to joining SFSU he worked for AT&T Labs Research. His research focus is on Distributed Systems, Embedded Systems, and IoT. Dr. Timothy Sun is an assistant professor in the department and is currently serving as graduate coordinator and as a graduate advisor. His current research area is in graph theory and algorithms, with a focus on topological graph theory. Dr. Qun Wan is an assistant professor in the department and is currently serving as a graduate advisor. His current research area is in edge computing and wireless networks, with a focus on deploying AI applications on computing constraint devices and related wireless communication theories.
