Overview

Abstract

This seminar will explore what it takes to move humanoid and Physical AI systems from impressive demonstrations into reliable real-world deployment. Drawing on Foundation’s experience developing robots for demanding industrial and defense environments, Ben Gringeri will discuss how robotics companies evaluate reliability, test systems under real operating conditions, manage failures and human intervention, and address the technical and operational challenges that emerge during deployment and scale-up. The talk will also highlight lessons from bringing advanced robotic systems closer to production use. Foundation is developing general-purpose robots for complex industrial and high-risk environments.

Biography

Ben Gringeri is Senior Vice President at Foundation, a robotics company developing advanced humanoid robots.

He has held leadership roles at several robotics and AI companies, including Mattur, Altitude AI, and Cobalt AI, with experience spanning finance, operations, and strategy. Earlier in his career, he worked at Bain & Company, Mars, and Procter & Gamble. Ben holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. from Brigham Young University, bringing a multidisciplinary perspective on scaling and commercializing emerging technologies.
