Inaugural Meeting of SFSU’s ACM CS Research Special Interest Group
In conjunction with the CS ACM student chapter and its Treasurer and former president, Mark Kim, Professors Daniel Huang and Wes Bethel were joined by over 30 CS students at an inaugural meeting a "CS Research Special Interest Group (SIG)" in the CS lab in the Creative Arts building on the SFSU campus on August 31st, 2023.
Going forward, the group will meet approximately every two weeks, Thursdays 3-4pm, to discuss topics in Computer Science research. They will initially use a theme of discussing the work of a recent ACM Turing Award winner, the CS equivalent of a Nobel Prize.
The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Thur 9 Sept 2023, 2:30-3:30pm in Hensill Hall 803. More information will be forthcoming on the Events channel of the ACM at SFSU Discord server (https://discord.com/channels/864311593727033375/1070731561038786680)
